Cryogenics

Reflec Evolution has several cryogenic process plants which are capable of grinding a wide variety of materials to five microns and upwards, depending on the nature of the material – our great experience in these techniques enables us to handle, as a matter of routine, the most challenging substances which other companies find too difficult, or impossible, to process.

We have developed the cryogenic process to convert sticky or low melting point materials, overcoming friction problems in ambient temperature grinding. Using liquid nitrogen eliminates heat build-up through attrition, but maintains temperatures above freezing, while using the full cryogenic capabilities enables us to take materials to their brittlement temperatures (which range from 0-degrees Celsius to minus 196-degrees Celsius) to reduce them to powder.

Greater quality

Greater quality is achieved due to better particle shape and distribution which in turn gives improved flow and bulk density properties. The cryogenic processes incorporate a range of sieving equipment to provide high efficiency when dealing with difficult or electrically charged products. Reflec Evolution also operates a small cryogenic plant that can process amounts as small as 25kg – ideal for product evaluation before scaling up for full production.
